Steps to Prepare Your Submission

1. Determine in which submission category your research fits. The organization of Technical Conference content rests firmly (and recognizably) on the foundation of Optica Technical Divisions.

2. Determine which presentation mode is best for you and your work. Papers can be submitted to be considered for oral or poster presentation.  

3. ​​Understand the paper submission requirements and guidelines.

4. Submit your abstract and summary description before deadline listed above.

Accepted and presented papers are published in Optica Publishing Group's Digital Library, indexed in Ei Compendex and Scopus and tagged to facilitate results in Google Scholar and its search engine.

Get the Most From Membership
FiO, the Optica Annual Meeting, is intended to be inclusive and diverse — which is why all Optica Members will be given the ability to present a contributed paper.

Get Recognized
Present in front of a supportive, international audience of peers, colleagues and other Optica Members. In 2019, over 1,200 attendees came from more than 60 countries.

As a presenter, you're also an attendee. You'll have numerous opportunities, formal and informal, to meet, network and engage with other presenters and attendees — leaders from academia, industry and government.
